"There are years that ask questions and years that answer."

— Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God

Not every season moves forward visibly. Some stretches feel suspended — unclear, unresolved, neither gaining nor losing ground. Self-will can grow restless there, pushing for resolution before the time is right. There can be an urgency to turn the questioning into something useful, something to show for itself.

But the questions themselves may be doing something. They may be hollowing out space. Not every period that feels uncertain is a problem to solve. Sometimes what seems like stagnation is actually a slow shift — something settling beneath the surface that isn't ready to be named yet. The answering, when it comes, may feel less like achievement and more like recognition.

Egos Anonymous is offered in an experimental spirit—an invitation to see whether there’s interest in a shared way of working with ego, self-will, and control. The language, structure, and practices are still forming and are meant to grow through lived experience.

This is a soft launch. The hope is to eventually gather a year of reflections into a book, but for now they’re simply being shared—one day at a time—to see what resonates.

If something feels useful, confusing, incomplete, or off, feedback is welcome and genuinely appreciated. This work is meant to be shaped together.
